Although rated as “Uncommon”, Plains Cupid can often be found near its larval food plant Cycas in the Hong Kong Wetland Park from May to July and October to November each year. Wing tails and orange patches are present at the tip of their hindwings, which look like the head at a glance to confuse their predators, so as to increase their survival chance.
