A large native deciduous tree in Hong Kong, its green three-lobed leaves will turn yellow in autumn and then red before they drop. It produces a fragrant gum which could be used as a Chinese medicine. Even its leaves carry a scent, which you may experience by rubbing a piece of fallen leaf.
