Common Reedgrass is an eye-catching grass in Hong Kong wetlands. Mai Po Marshes have the largest population of Common Reedgrass in Hong Kong. Common Reedgrass provides valuable habitats for many birds; its roots can help to remove pollutants from water effectively. The reed bed in Wetland Park is an important element of the water filtration system for the Park’s Reserve Area.
