“Hong Kong Marine Classroom 2024 – 2025” Marine Conservation Education Activities
At the start of the new school year, we wish all fellow teachers and students a fruitful and wonderful new school year! AFCD continues to provide different education activities this year, including school seminars, guided eco-tours, field trips and exhibition panels borrowing service, to promote students’ awareness in “Respect, Care for and Appreciate our Marine Wildlife”. Hoi Ha Visitor Centre
The first marine park’s visitor centre, Hoi Ha Visitor Centre, has commenced service since May 2021. It is located within a beautiful woodland in Sai Kung West Country Park, just adjacent to Hoi Ha Wan Marine Park. The exhibition hall in the Centre displays information about marine park management, conservation measures, marine ecology, the history of Hoi Ha, and marine threats for educational purposes, with the aim of raising public understanding of the functions and management of marine parks and public awareness on marine conservation.

Seahorse and Adult Horseshoe Crab Sighting Report
To allow a better understanding on the distribution, diversity and abundance of seahorses and adult horseshoe crabs in Hong Kong waters, Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD) is collecting information on the sightings of seahorses and adult horseshoe crabs in Hong Kong waters through an online form.

Coral Bleaching Sighting Report in Hong Kong
To allow a better understanding of the occurrence and severity of coral bleaching events in Hong Kong, Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department has launched a reporting system for coral bleaching sightings in Hong Kong waters.

Hong Kong Reef Check 2024
In collaboration with the Reef Check Foundation, AFCD has coordinated annual survey of corals in Hong Kong since 2000. Hong Kong Reef Check is part of the global programme to promote sustainable management of coral reefs.

Treasure of Marine Biodiversity in Tolo Harbour and Channel
This website serves as an educational tool to visualize species records from ecological surveys conducted in the Tolo Harbour and Channel (the Tolo area) over three years as part of the Ting Kok+ project funded by the Environment and Conservation Fund , as well as data from other ecological studies and surveys conducted in the Tolo area going back as far as the 1970s. This website synthesizes the species records from ecological surveys conducted in the Tolo area into a single marine biodiversity database, with species identification guides provided for some common species, so that the public can learn more about the species found in the Tolo area during their exploration.
