Mainland fishermen deckhands scheme
The Mainland Fishermen Deckhands Scheme has been implemented since 1995 in collaboration with Immigration Department to alleviate the manpower shortage of the fishing industry. The Scheme enables a maximum of 7,200 mainland fishermen deckhands, whose contracts are entered into outside Hong Kong and whose work is performed mainly outside Hong Kong, to enter Hong Kong specifically to unload fish catch at wholesale fish markets.
