  • The Veterinary Laboratory Division (VLD) oversees the official veterinary diagnostic laboratory of Hong Kong SAR. The role of the VLD is to provide the government and private sectors with veterinary laboratory testing services in the following disciplines – anatomical and histological pathology, immunology, and microbiology.

  • The VLD has a laboratory namely Tai Lung Veterinary Laboratory which is National Association of Testing Authorities, Australia (NATA) accredited facility against the criteria in ISO/IEC 17025, General requirements for the competence of calibration and testing laboratories.

  • Our major work focuses on testing related to animal and veterinary public health and food safety. We provide a range of animal diagnostic tests including but not limited to COVID-19, Avian Influenza, African Swine Fever, anti-microbial testing, etc. We also provide post-mortem examination services.
