Training Seminar on Traceability System of the Hong Kong Harvest Scheme
In July 2026, the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD) officially launched the new unified brand for local agricultural and fisheries products, “Hong Kong Harvest”, which aims to enhance product awareness and brand value and to strengthen the competitiveness of local produce.
The new brand includes a certification, testing, and traceability mechanism tailormade for local agricultural and fisheries products. Consumers only need to scan the QR code on the product’s traceability label to clearly view information such as the product’s origin, production date, and foodÜdü|afety test results, thereby boosting confidence in food safety and source transparency.
To facilitate crop farmers participating in the Scheme gain a deeper understanding of the practical operation of the “Hong Kong Harvest” traceability system, the Department will organise the following training seminar:

Farmers interested in participating are welcome to call 2150 6706 to register in advance. Successful registrants may choose to attend either virtually via Zoom or in person. Please note that on-site capacity is limited and seats will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Due to continuous heavy rain and adverse weather conditions recently affecting the local organic watermelon harvest, the "Local Organic Watermelon Festival" originally scheduled to be held at Maritime Square 1 from June 26 to 29 will be cancelled.

Application Open for the Pilot Project on Urban Farming in Kwun Tong Laguna Park
The Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD) will launch a pilot project on urban farming in Kwun Tong Laguna Park in 2026 for five years. The department is now inviting application from operators running modernised indoor crop production farm in Hong Kong.
The department requires the operator taking part in the pilot project to set up a modernised indoor crop production farm in the area of about 500 square metres designated in the park for running commercial crop production under a financially viable business model as the main activity. The operator should also sell crops produced in the urban farm and organise agricultural education and promotion activities related to the farm production for engaging the community.

Application Now Open for the “Hong Kong Harvest” Scheme
The Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD) will launch a new unified brand for local agricultural and fisheries products named “Hong Kong Harvest” in the middle of this year. The new brand aims to promote awareness of products and provide the public with safe, high-quality and reduced-carbon options, while enhancing the market competitiveness of products to increase the income levels of fishermen and farmers.
To enhance the credibility of the new brand, the AFCD has funded the Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency through the Sustainable Agricultural Development Fund to develop a brand new “Hong Kong Harvest” Scheme. The scheme comprises a Producer Certification and a Companion Charter:
The “Hong Kong Harvest” Scheme – Producer Certification aims to establish a certification, testing, and traceability system specifically for local agricultural and fisheries products, ensuring that participating crop and fish farmers adhere to the production standards and methods required by the certification, and meet food safety indicators and testing requirements. The certification applies to local producers of agricultural and fisheries products engaged in commercial production, including crop farmers, aquaculture operators, pig farmers, and chicken farmers.
The “Hong Kong Harvest” Scheme – Companion Charter aims to create a promotion system and market display mechanism that showcases participating companions’ commitment to supporting local agricultural and fisheries products, while encouraging more companions to purchase and promote local agricultural and fisheries products, thereby raising market awareness and confidence in “Hong Kong Harvest” products. The charter applies to entities that have purchased and subsequently sold, processed, displayed, promoted, or used agricultural and fisheries products supplied by certificate holders of the “Hong Kong Harvest” – Producer Certification, including wholesalers, distributors, retailers, food processors, restaurants, and hotels.
Starting from 6ÜduneÜd026, the “Hong Kong Harvest” Scheme is accepting applications from crop farmers, aquaculture operators, and related companions. Eligibility criteria and further details about the scheme can be found on the following website:

Briefing Session and Site Visit for the Hong Kong's First Multi-Storey, Modernied, and Environmentally-Friendly Pig Farming ProjectThe AFCD will hold a project application briefing session and a site visit to introduce the project details, and application requirements to organisations interested in participating in the project. Application Open for the “Agri enJoy” SchemeAgriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD) has launched the “Agri enJoy” Scheme to enable farms engaged in commercial agricultural production to operate agriculture-related ancillary businesses, so as to increase their income and promote their agricultural products. Members of the public will also get a chance to experience and learn more about agricultural production. Participating farms of the Scheme may operate ancillary businesses including preparation of light meals with self-grown crops and non-flame cooking, provision of "pick-your-own crops" activities, on-farm sale of self-grown crops, and on-farm activities, including guided tours and farming experiences or workshops, which aim at promoting farming education.
