Sustainable Consumption of Biological Resources

Biological resources are essential in our daily life as they are key elements for clothing, food, furniture, medicine and fuel, etc. Our current pattern of over-consumption poses a severe pressure on biological resources, including plant, animal and microbial resources, upon which we are heavily dependent. Hong Kong is a consumption-based society which relies heavily on natural resources imported from elsewhere, and hence the pattern we purchase and consume goods and services has strong implications on the biological resources in the planet.
