Changeable Lizard is a native Hong Kong lizard species widely distributed in countryside and commonly found on open shrublands, grasslands, and tree trunks throughout Hong Kong. Their head have radiating black stripes extending from the eyes, and a distinctive row of crest-like scales along their backs.

As their name suggests, Changeable Lizards can change their coloration to a certain extent. During breeding season, males' heads and front bodies change into red and black colors - this distinctive coloration has earned them the nickname "Bloodsucker".
