Being an evergreen tree, it can be found on tidal riverbanks and seashores. Flowering from March to October, and fruiting from July to December. Its fruit has a shape of ellipsoid or globose drupe and turns orange when ripe. The fruit of Cerbera looks like Mango, thus its Chinese name means “Sea Mango”.
